B92.5 is the newest addition to the Evans Broadcasting Corporation. After several years of hearing repeated requests for it, Joe Evans finally decided upon a classic rock format for the newest station. So, with much excitement and anticipation, Areosmith rocked the airwaves as B92.5 Classic Rock, KCUA, was turned up and launched in the Uintah Basin in 2006.
B92.5 Classic Rock has a focused approach to Classic Rock, creating a clear identity for listeners expecting consistency in great rock music. Travel anywhere in the U.S. and you’ll notice the B92.5 format is steady in its offerings, unlike stations that play hard rock, contemporary hits and even a little modern country with their classic rock. Only the biggest classic rock hits of all time make it on the air on B92.5.
Classic rock listeners in the Uintah Basin fall into certain demographics. Many are in the 25-49 year old demographic with a 61%-39% male to female radio. 56% of the B92.5 listeners are married and lead active lifestyles that include activities such as automotive, sports, nightlife/entertainment, heavy use of computers and the internet. This demographic also uses radio more than any other media.
Listeners who tune in to B92.5 can be treated to rock legends such as Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, John Mellencamp, Def Leppard and Whitesnake comprise some of the more recent classic rock line-up.
Classic rock music is a mainstay in the music world and will always be a staple on the radio in the Basin. You can count on Evans Broadcasting and B92.5 to bring you good ol’, head bangin’, long hair lovin’, tight pants wearin’, old rockers who still got it rockin’ music for years to come.
